man this game really does deserve the title of the black sheep of Metroid lmao the sad thing is, there's actually some good parts to this. but unfortunately outside of the boss battles and some moments of controlling Samus - everything about this is ASS fighting enemies is pointless, the controls are awful, the story is convoluted and ridiculously drawn out, not to mention the insane amount of unnecessary cutscenes and their length i would say a remaster could fix this but at that point, just make a brand new game and take what worked here and bring it back AND THE CONTROLS, HOLY CRAP EVERYTIME I HAD TO SWTCH FROM SIDEWAYS HANDHELD TO POINTING AT THE SENSOR IT WAS AWFUL easily a low point in the metroid series and i'm glad we've moved past it
