Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a game that has both earned its reputation and somehow is still treated unfairly. Suicide Squad is not the game I would have chosen for Rocksteady, but it’s a game they are clearly passionate about and will hopefully support for years to come.
Suicide Squad features dynamic combat and extremely slick and satisfying traversal all wrapped up in a sleek and stylish package. The four main characters must stop Brainiac’s invasion and yes, Kill the Justice League.
You get what you put into this game. The missions are extremely repetitive and you’ll be doing the same exact things over and over. However for my part, the combat and traversal carry me through the game with ease. I had so much fun PLAYING the game I didn’t focus so much on the fact I’ve done this same mission 6 times already.
The story also pulls its weight. With twists and turns and decent character development, you’ll find yourself pushing through those tired missions to find out what happens with our would be heroes and their arch-nemesis’ turned villain. No spoilers, but I was quite surprised to see that Suicide Squad pulls no punches and if you had told me someone else wrote the main story, I’d believe you.
Rocksteady treats with Arkhamverse with both a sense of care and reckless abandon. Nothing is safe and I can honestly say I’m not sure what comes next. While I’m not entirely satisfied with how some heroes are treated (namely Batman, not sure why they treated him with such disregard) I am interested to see how the story progresses.
The end-game is likewise filled with repetitive content but the carrot at the end of the stick is mostly worth it. With Season 1 fast approaching I’m eager to see how they will keep things fresh.
Overall I give the game a 7.5. The combat and build variety kept me going and the story never made me feel bored. I recommend the game if you like great content and DO NOT mind repetitive content.
Very fun game, achieved the platinum trophy and enjoyed my time with it! I hope the devs get to do more, as this was an enjoyable experience! I recommend!
Worst game I’ve ever beaten and maybe the clunkiest game I’ve ever played. Awful, AWFUL boss fights. Game crashed too many times and the timer ***** every drop of fun out of the game. I cannot and will never recommend this game. Combat is miserable. It’s a zombie game where I don’t even want to fight zombies. All they do is grab you NONSTOP and take your health. Healing is inconsistent so you just die constantly. Stay away.
The most bare bones rogue-lite you will ever play. This does the absolute bare minimum to qualify as a souls-lite. If you’re looking for a quick platinum, this is it. I got it in an hour and a half just by playing. You don’t have to go out of your way to do anything. I didn’t buy it for that reason, it just looked fun.
It’s worth it for what I paid ($2.79) but not any more than that. Combat is basic. One button attack. Your power-ups you get in each “run” are similar to vampire survivors or Brotato. You can get more weapons, more speed or damage etc. at the end of each area is a brain-dead easy boss that takes about 5 seconds to kill.
I can’t recommend this game unless you want an extremely easy rogue-lite game with an unbelievably easy platinum trophy.
Tried to give this a fair shot but after an hour I just couldn’t. The controls are utterly horrendous. It ruins the entire experience. With no way to rebind, it left me frustrated. The combat is fine, but blocking does no good because enemies just keep attacking. And you can’t animation cancel so there’s no point. You also don’t have I-frames so no point to dash either. Just very disappointing.
